Today we went to the zoo! Although we live in a small town, I was impressed by the fact that Manhattan has a very nice zoo. There were lots of animals and the grounds were beautiful. We went today with my good friend Lacey {who also happens to be our awesome photographer!} and her kiddos. The weather was great-- not too hot, but quite a bit breezy, as it is most days here in Kansas!
Here Evan is all ready to go! He had to dress the part today with his bear onesie and adorable hat, isn't he adorable?!
We came across this beautiful pond/waterfall and I had to take a picture. Isn't it serene?
Evan...being three and a half months old, fell asleep at the beginning of our zoo adventure!
Maybe next time we go he'll stay awake for all the fun!
My favorite picture...I don't know why, but it is! Such a cute racoon!
There were several peacocks just milling around out in the open. We could get up close and personal with them. We waited awhile to see if they would open their tails, but they never did.
They are beautiful creatures though, that's for sure!
Flamingos!
Taking a break after all the walking around we did. The zoo had a very nice playground area with a pavillon. We stopped there to let the kids eat lunch and Evan had a bottle.
Lacey and I were able to chat and have adult conversation while the kids played.
It was a great morning!
