So being 8 months pregnant, I've been experiencing some mild swelling of my feet and ankles, no big deal right? Well...to combat the swelling and to make my mornings go smoother {it's really hard to put on my own athletic shoes now!} I've been wearing my flip flops to work. Lucky for me the weather this winter in Kansas has been VERY mild and I've had no problems with freezing my toes off while wearing my flops!
Well yesterday, I wore my flops as usual and I guess my feet, really my left foot in particular, decided they had had enough. By evening, my left foot was in so much pain from my plantar faciitis that I could barely walk! After taking 2 tylenol pm's to try to reduce the pain and hopefully get some sleep, I ended up being awake all night while in pain. No fun.
Long story short, I ended up calling in sick today from work. I hated to do it, I'm trying to save all my sick days for maternity leave, but it ended up being the best decision. I called my doctor and got some stronger pain medicine (which my wonderful hubby is picking up now} and took about a 2 1/2 hour nap this morning. I so desperately needed the sleep and my foot needed the rest.
Hoping to be back to normal very soon, or at least as normal as I can be being 8 months pregnant! I guess I'll need to opt for the ugly {but oh so practical} athletic shoes from now on, my husband has banned the flops until further notice!
P.S. Like the new blog design?! Just something simple and fun!
Love the new look for the blog! Super cute!
ReplyDeleteI totally understand your foot pain. When I was pregnant with Jackson I had one pair of shoes I could wear. The thing that finally helped was going to the chiropractor. Not what I went for, just mentioned it to him and he fixed my feet. Hope you make it without more foot pain!
