Mark and I drove all night on Thursday to make it for all the festivities. We were absolutely exhausted when we finally got there. On Friday night there was a reception for all the vet students and their families. We enjoyed a lovely slide show of all the adventures that were had over Sarah's last 4 years. There were several interesting pictures!
Friday Night Reception:
The most interesting t-shirt that I've seen, isn't it great?! I really hope Sarah has one!
Sisters!
Graduation Day!
The ceremony was just for the school of veterinarny medicine so it was smaller than a typical graduation ceremony, it was also much more personal. Each student walked across the stage to be "hooded" and the speaker gave a small synopsis of what they were going to be doing with their future. Sarah is going to Nashville next week to begin a paid internship working with large animals, primarily horses. The picture below shows her being "hooded"!
The degree is in her hand, it's official! The grin on her face says it all!
The whole family celebrated that day, it had been a LONG time coming!
That evening we went to only the BEST restaurant in Knoxville...Calhouns! Their ribs are award winning and I was in heaven with all the southern food!
We left after breakfast on Sunday morning and made the 12 hour journey back to Kansas. Although exhausted, we're so glad we had the opportunity to go and be a part of my sister's big day! Congratulations Dr. Sarah K.--DVM!
