Army Wives Dinner Club

Since moving to Fort Riley and becoming an Army wife, I've made some good friends who also have deployed husbands. We get together every now and then for dinner. It's great to have ladies in the same boat as you when it comes to dealing with deployments and all the emotions that come along with it! When your feeling lonely, sad, happy, or nervous about it, you have people who know exactly how you feel.
It's funny how I met some of these ladies, Nicole (who isn't in this picture) is one of my neighbors and she met Mark prior to him leaving and he introduced us. Jenny is also my neighbor and we also met through having my husband introduce us. We're really good friends now and hang out all the time. Katie knew Nicole and also happens to work with Jenny at KSU! The world is really a small place and the connections that bring people together is often amazing. Katie also knows Rebecca (another friend of mine) who I met through work. The military community is wonderful for connecting people together and sometimes it just works!

We had a great time at dinner, laughing and talking about R&R and redeployments. It was a wonderful evening filled with great food, great company, and great support!
